Vidalia, Toombs County, Georgia - Mrs. Kay Mote Brown, 67, died Tuesday.

Survivors: daughters, Rebecca and Carla, sons, Norrie, David and Stephen.

Visitation: 6 - 9 p.m., Sunday at the Funeral Home.

Funeral : 11 a.m., Monday at the Funeral Home.

Burial: 3 p.m., Monday at the West Palmetto Cemetery in Brunswick, GA.

Mrs. Maria A. Garret, 91, Obituary

(1914-October 14, 2005)

Mt. Vernon, Montgomery County, Georgia - Mrs. Maria A. Garret, 91, of 531-A West Blueberry Street, Mt. Vernon, GA, died Friday, October 14, 2005 in the Meadows Nursing Center in Vidalia after an extended illness.

She was a native of Tattnall County, living in Decatur for many years and moving to Mt. Vernon in 1986. She had worked as a secretary with the county commissioners office and the clerk of courts office in Montgomery County, was a graduate of Brewton Parker and was a charter member of College Hill Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe B. Garrett, her parents, Bennie Clifford and Mellie Currie Anderson and two sisters, Bennie Mae Hunt and Frances Donaldson.

Mrs. Garrett is survived by one daughter, Melinda M. Franklin and her husband, Robert, one sister, Josephine Dickerson, two grandchildren, Ben and Bridget Franklin all of Mt. Vernon, several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Visitation: The family will receivefriends 6 - 8 pm, Saturday, at the Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Mrs. Maria A. Garrett will be held 3 p.m., Sunday, October 16, 2005 at the College Hill Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon with Reverend Wayne Durden, Reverend Dr. Jimmy Voyles and Reverend Randall Gibbs officiating.

Interment will follow in Mt. Vernon City Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the College Hill Baptist Church c/o Rabun Way, 233 Ben Anderson Street, Mt. Vernon, GA. 30445.
