Mr. Ronnie Elva Moore, Sr., 59, Obituary

(1947-April 20, 2006)
Veteran

Lyons, Toombs County, Georgia - Mr. Ronnie Elva Moore, Sr., 59 from Appling County, died Thursday April 20, 2006, after a short illness.

He was a native of Lyons, a veteran of the Army, having served in Vietnam, retired Tool and Die Engineer with the Ford Motor Co. in Michigan, and a Rock and Roll singer, member of the Moose Lodge and he attended Harden's Chapel Church. He was proud to be a grandfather and an Irishman.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Beulah Moore Herpolsheimer and Elva Truman Moore. Two brothers Bill and Devon Moore and one nephew Billy Moore.

Mr. Moore is survived by two sons, Ronald Moore Jr. (Buddy) and his wife, Rachael from Canton Michigan, and Sean Moore of Westland Michigan; one daughter, Kim Gregg and her husband, Pat Gregg of Canton Michigan; two sisters, Elva Moore of Vidalia, Georgia and Linda Cadreau of Farmington Hills Michigan; three brothers, Larry Moore of Howell, Michigan, David Moore of Westland Michigan and Darreld Moore of Taylor, Michigan; three grandchildren, Brady Moore of Canton Michigan, Meghan and Brendan Gregg of Canton Michigan, and one more grandchild on the way. Several nieces and nephews also survive, and his faithful canine companion "Bo".

Funeral Services for Mr. Ronald E. Moore, Sr. will be held Tuesday, April 25, at 11:00 a.m., in the chapel of Jones -Stewart Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Ivy officiating.

Internment will follow at Harden’s Chapel Church Cemetery in Lyons.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m.

Mrs. Wilma C. Powell, 77, Obituary

(1929-April 21, 2006)

Rincon, Effingham County, Georgia - Mrs. Wilma C. Powell, 77, died on Friday, April 21, 2006 at Candler Hospital surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Powell was born in Toombs County and lived in Garden City for 45 years before moving to Rincon in 1998. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Garden City and retired as a legal secretary with the U.S. Corp of Engineers.

Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Earl Powell of Rincon; son and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Susan Powell of Pooler; grandchildren, Thomas and Kate Powell of Pooler; brother, John Coursey of Lawrenceville; sister and brother-in-law, Margie and James Hoover of Rincon and two nieces.

Visitation: 5-8 p.m, on Monday at the funeral home.

Funeral: 11 a.m. on Tuesday in the chapel of the funeral home.

Interment: Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
